Regular full-time, year-round exempt and full-time, year-round, non-exempt Ambassadors are entitled to individual health insurance benefits in accordance with Martis Camp Club’s health insurance plan. Eligibility begins at the end of the Ambassador’s introductory period.  PPO and HSA plans are offered, with a per-paycheck premium. Tiered options include an Ambassador-only plan that costs the Ambassador nothing. Our Dental PPO plan pays the same percentage on covered services whether your dentist is in- or out-of-network. Vision insurance covers an annual check up and new glasses or contacts every year. Life insurance includes options for spouse and child coverage.

Martis Camp encourages Ambassadors to prepare and save for the future by participating in the company’s 401(k) Plan. Martis Camp matches Ambassador contributions up to 7% of annual income – one of the highest employer matches in the Tahoe area. The 401(k) Plan is administered by John Hancock, with options to invest through a wide variety of funds offered by management investment companies.

Martis Camp Club Ambassadors use the Kazoo rewards program to recognize one another for jobs well done. Ambassadors may give points to each other and share their reasons for recognition, including outstanding teamwork, Member service or going above and beyond what was expected. Points earned may be redeemed for prizes and gift cards. In addition, the Hero award is an informal way for Ambassadors to acknowledge their fellow teammates. The award remains in circulation throughout the year.

Ambassadors who consistently provide outstanding service and contribute to the ongoing success of Martis Camp may be recognized as the Ambassador of the Month. Martis Camp’s management team nominates and votes on candidates for the award. Recipients are given 10,000 Kazoo points ($100 value) and a sterling silver logo pin. At the end of the year, the twelve Ambassadors of the Month are eligible to be named Ambassador of the Year. The winner of this title receives $500 and a diamond-studded Martis Camp pin.

The hard work and dedication of our Ambassadors make Martis Camp a special place. The Holiday Fund was established to provide an opportunity for Martis Camp Members to express their gratitude and say thank you to the entire Ambassador team, in both front and back-of-the-house positions. Contributions to the Holiday Fund help ensure the longevity of our staff and their commitment to our community. Funds are distributed at year-end to full-time, part-time and seasonal Ambassadors based on the number of hours worked during the year.

Martis Camp’s Fitness Bonus is paid once a year to all full-time, year-round Ambassadors. The $500 bonus may be applied to any fitness-related expense including items such as ski passes, yoga classes or sports equipment. By offering this bonus, Martis Camp encourages its Ambassadors to be excited about health and fitness, and motivated to lead an active lifestyle.

The Ambassador Scholarship Program is offered through the Martis Camp Foundation (MCF). Qualifying Ambassadors who have been with Martis Camp for at least one year and have worked a minimum of 700 hours may be eligible for scholarship funds for themselves and their children. Ambassadors are eligible to receive up to $5,000 per year, limited to a lifetime maximum of $15,000. During summer and winter high seasons, Martis Camp Ambassadors may enjoy one meal per shift (depending on department and schedule), provided in employee break rooms. A lunch buffet is available from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and a dinner buffet is available from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. During breaks, Ambassadors also have access to beverages and snacks including fruit, chips and granola bars/trail mix.

During the summer season, Ambassadors are invited to take part in golf, tennis and fitness clinics provided by staff experts in their fields. Clinics take place on scheduled afternoons when impact to Members is minimal. Ambassadors may also play the golf course, subject to schedule and equipment restrictions. During the winter season, Ambassadors have direct access to the Martis Camp Express Lift for skiing and snowboarding at Northstar California (lift ticket or ski pass required).
